Standards for Stereoscopic photography and art

File names
Remember to name your stereo images using the following standard:

Left Eye image: filename_SL.jpg
Right Eye image: filename_SR.jpg
Cross Eye Composite image: filename_SX.jpg
Parallel Eye Composite image: filename_SP.jpg
Anaglyph image: filename_SA.jpg
Stereo Depth Map: filename_SD.jpg

File Formats
jpg or png

Eye distance
Normal adult eyes are +- 70mm apart
50-100mm separation is considered acceptable.
Photos and film should be taken 70mm apart.

Best Choices
Cross-Eye images are best for the web,
They allow the greatest colour quality and are easiest to see without aid.
The StereoPaint application uses cross-eye stereo images (sx).
