The Working Farce

It has become illegal not to have a job.

You're not allowed to pitch up at a vacant bit of land and start planting tomatoes. Every inch of the globe is accounted for and policed, because it's worth cash. It's exploitable. YOUR LIFE IS FOR SALE AT MINIMUM WAGE

Judgement
How often have you heard someone say, "Oh, such-and-such doesn't have a job? Ohhhh!" in a rather rude tone of voice. Does it really matter? You are not your car. Your car is a smelly appliance. You don't need it. The world definitely doesn't need it.

What is a job, why do we need one?
We have become dependent on money. Money is a product, like television, bricks or cheap plastic toys, but we think we need it to survive because the advertising and marketing for this product is very successful, even governments think they have to have it and spend lots of it in order to have it.
We need to pay rent. You're not allowed to sleep where you want, because you are not a free person. You have to sleep indoors. Behind closed, locked doors, because locks cost money and the more locks are sold the better the lock companies do and the more money they have to buy more cars and houses. Your houses. Rent increases. Food costs money. You're not allowed to plant your own food where you want, it has to be on your property.
A job is an invention based on reward for labour. What an odd idea. I'll sit in this position and push buttons all day and as a reward I get to eat, sleep and have a private place to take a wee. Last time I checked that was called slavery.

Money
Money runs faster than you. You can't catch it and the harder you try the faster it runs away. Stand still. Do what you do best, be the best person. Money will chase after you. You can't run away from money. Money runs faster than you.

Things
People's true character comes out when you have nothing.
If you want to know something about yourself and your environment then quit your job. Give away all your possessions. Now you will see who your friends really are. Because most people judge you on what you are, not on who you are. But who you are is the only thing that really matters, because it is the only thing that has any potential of crossing the border-post of life and death.
How many of the great philosophers were wealthy?
They all had virtually nothing, or completely nothing, like Socrates. Jesus had a full time job? Probably not. Mohammad spent his hours managing goat-milk production? I don't think so. Philosophy comes from having lots of time and lots to think about without the trappings of things and jobs and possessions... without being possessed.
How many days do you have left to live? Work it out.. 35 years x 365 days = 12775. Are you going to spend the final few thousand days of your life collecting shit or are you going to get to know something or someone? What is life worth to you? After a few thousand days there will NEVER be you again, what a pity if you don't share yourself with the world in the best ways possible. Time is running out.

Progress
We have this concept of progress, which means to chop up everything and stuff it somewhere else in neat rows. We judge countries on how progressed they are. Progressed from what? How far from paradise they've come? How much garbage they pump out per day?
If we judge countries on the happiness of their people we find that those with the need for little are often the happiest. Why? Because they focus on what's important - values, sincerity, the entertainment of conversation, the honour of the aged.

Stop trying to be something. Start trying to be someone. Then every thing you need will come to you.
